I just read in the most issue of PC gamer here at my library that Microsoft is going to expand Xbox live to include PC's, with the ability to play against each other. As my title suggests, I think that the mouse gives a huge edge to PC gamers, especially in FPS games. Other opinions, and facets that I may not have considered are welcome.

I guess such handicaps can be offsetted with 'auto aim'. Though it sounds kinda silly this console playing with PC thingy..

I had thought that Microsoft said they would never put PCs and Xbox together. Well, thats gonna suck for Halo.

You know you're talking about Microsoft here and I bet you're running that company's operating system so they'll try to merge it with it's next OS called Vista or a new program called "Live anywhere" which connect's Microsoft's next OS (Vista), Xbox live, and Windows Mobile (for cellphones duh) .

Auto-aim isn't that good, especially in FPS with even half bit realistic modelling of the projectiles. Rocket launchers require plenty of advance in aiming

Auto-aim focuses on a person.

A mouse focuses on the head.

Still interesting that they would allow consoles to compete with PCs.

Shadowrun is coming out as a shooter for the 360 and PC, and they will be able to play together online. I look forward to testing my controller skills vs others mouse + kb skills. I use mouse and keyboard on some shooters, like if I am sniping in BF2, but I do love the controller when I'm not sniping.

Don't forget the 360. But FFXI is not a FPS, which I think is the main concern here. And I personally think you would have to be crazy to pay the price for FFXI on the PS2. You had to buy the $90+ dollar game with HDD, then you really should have bought a keyboard, or else spend 15 minutes trying to tell people what WS you're using. Then on top of that, you're paying a 14 dollar monthly fee. PC was the way to go.

Off-topic - When you say "a FPS", doesn't that sound stupid? Its gramatically correct, but it sounds like it should be "an". Well, whatever.

back to the topic, face it microsoft wants you're money, and they give you excuses to spend spend spend so you can play with you're friends who own a PC.
The only things I would play on a console would be a RPG, Racing, Action and Fighting games... If they had an online-Grand Tourismo I'd totaly be on top of that.
